Here is the inverter. It says it is compatible with all MacBook and MacBook Air 13.3in models.
Here is the inverter cable. It says it is compatible with MacBook Core 2 & Core 2 duo models.

Tim, I know you want to give answers, but knowing the correct machine is vital. The pros here do not give answers until they know the facts. People go out and spend money based our recommendations and we do not want to lead them incorrectly. You have done this on several answers.
Then if they measure their screen and it is not 13.3in. This is simply not the correct inverter for them, and if the their MacBook is not a Core 2 or Core 2 duo then it's not the right cable for them. It's very simple to find out what processor you have, and what your screen size is.
Yes it is simple, you ask them for the last four figures of their serial number so you know the exact machine. Just as oldturkey did under comments.
what are the last 4 digits of your computers serial number? that will help us to properly identify your hardware.
