I just replaced a new screen on my iphone 6. There are horizontal lines on the screen. I think this must be a hardware issue because the old screen worked just fine. Let me know, thanks!

You have a hardware problem indeed, and that's the new screen itself.
Either it came defective, and that's very common; or you damaged it during installation (it, or the cables connecting it to the board), and that's even more common.
To double check, put back the old screen and if the horizontal lines are gone like I think, the issue is with the new screen for sure.
Be careful not to pull on the screen when the cables are attached to the logic board. That's a sure way to damage them and cause such an issue. Also exerting force to seat a screen in a bent frame may damage that screen as well.

Thanks man! I've been replacing iphone screens for a while now and I made sure everything was perfect in the transition. The company must've sent me a defective screen. This has happened to me before.
I have this problem too and my old screen was busted and had lines like this too horizontal and vertical but i put the new screen in and it also has the lines and touch screen only works on the top half of the screen so i cannot slide to unlock. I bought this phone from another owner so im thinking its the phone itself but what could it be? Please help!
In my case, the screen was defective. In your case, it sounds like the phone has some sort of internal issue. I've dealt with a phone that the digitizer didn't work at all. I originally thought it was the screen but after two screens, I found it to be the phone. So an internal issue is possible. I would contact the owner or try returning it if you cannot fix the issue. Also the connections could be loose from the screen to the motherboard. I would definitely check that.
Jena, if the old and new screen both are not responsive on the same side of the screen, then you could have an issue with your logic board.
If the old screen is busted but touch works on all of it, whereas new screen has lines and touch works only on ½ of it, then the new screen that you installed is either defective, or has been damaged during installation (the cables are very fragile, shouldn't be pulled at), or the cable is improperly seated. Disconnect the screen, make sure the connectors at the end of the screen cables that attach to the board are straight not "banana'd" and reseat them then test again.

My iphone 6 is 3 months old and has the same problem. I have not hit it or had any liquids near it. Why does it do this? Lines are fine and they come and go over night. Today I have more lines than ever, so the problem is serios

My phone has had these lines for the weekend as I was upnorth. My phone has been dropped and cracked and a drip of juice slipped into the top left and caused the volume buttons to stop working. A few weeks later I got the lines, if I get a new screen will they go away? Or will they still be there?

I got a new screen and they dissappeared. The screen I had was defective!
My iphone 6 plus was little crazy with the touch. I check if there was a cable loosen but not then i put back and start lines come on and now the screen is entire in line what happen ??

Same issue, cennectors from the logic board are disconnected probably due to dropp from certain height. Sadly it happened to me. My iPhone must be sent off as still under warranty (just 6 montuje old). For those without the warranty there is a video on YouTube where man describes step by step how to do it yourself.
