Has a vertical, 1.2" wide grey strip on the display

I restarted the computer, didn't make it go away. I opened the computer to disconnected and then reconnected the video cable. no luck. please help.

My MBP model is A1297.

Ouch! Sounds like the driver logic on the back of the LCD has become damaged or the connections to the LCD have broken off from a bang.

Sadly, its time for a new display.
