1 How to recover files
Hello. I had an issue restarting my Windows 8 PC and ended up resetting to the original factory condition without backing up anything. I thought it was restoring to an earlier checkpoint, but it was a full reset. All of my pictures, documents, favorites are gone. My computer is working perfectly fine, with the exception of my lost files. Is there any way to recover all of my files? If possible, can I do it myself or do I need to take it to any system admin? Thank you!

Who made your PC? Do you have another hard drive larger than the one in your PC?

Jihosoft data recovery tools do a great job in the filed of file recovery, you can give it a try.

@ Layla Pong - My "Web of Trust", WOT browser addition won't let me on the page. It says the site has a bad reputation for either attempting to install malware or steal my personal information.

Hmmm, I have no idea why did this happen. Anyway, I have recovered some photos using their tools a few days ago. It seems OK for me.
