How can you replace the internal storage
I was wondering if there was a way of replacing the internal storage on the s3 i9300 without having to replace the whole circuit board.

Yes and no. It would probably cost you near enough what the phone is worth to get done, it's very specialist work and not something anybody can just do, I don't even think people bother doing it because there's just no need.
If you need more storage what you can do is get a micro sd > sd converter. This is a ribbon cable that plugs into your micro sd card slot and on the other end is a slot for a full sd card, allowing you to use a 128GB sd card.

Thank you for your reply, the only problem is my s3 is currently broken as I damaged the internal storage whilst trying to install cyanogenmod. I now have an error when I boot it up saying "Encryption Unsuccessful", I have tried remounting the internal storage but got an error I have also formatted the whole phone including formatting the internal storage separately. Do you have any idea if there is a cost effective way of resolving this?

Does the phone boot into download mode? have you tried to do a FULL recovery via Odin, reflashing the bootloader, modem etc.
