U601 RF Replacement iPhone 5 Baseband Chip IC U16X
Hi,
I have a problem with an iPhone 5 it was dropped and has had a new front panel but the phone is now not activating, the phone has been restored and now gets Error 16 about 80% through. After some research I found its probably the U601_RF. I have purchased this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291322189388?_... as an attempted fix but I need some advice on removing the original chip.
I have removed the EMI Shield from the mainboard using a heat-tool with a 4mm tip @ 250 degrees, but this doesn't seem to be enough for the chip as its not budging. I have cranked the temperature up a bit to 300 but still not moving. I dont want to go above this temp for obvious reasons. Can anyone offer any advice on removing the chip without damaging the mainboard? I think there may be some resin surrounding the chip but its pretty hard to see, maybe this needs cleaning/removing first?
Thanks

Have the same problem. Also bought that chip in ebay and don't know how to replace it. Please give me update once you already fixed yours. Thanks.

you have to use a hotair Station. the Temperatur is min 345 - 350 °C to desolder an ic in the iphones. The solder is lead free!
