Ok, so the first link listed is to a 7" kindle fire digitizer.... Doesn't help at all.... Then the 2nd answer is just a plug for their own business of telling you to take it somewhere and not bother on your own.

There are people that sell the whole assembly plus corner cameras on eBay for 75 bucks. You pop open the phone and move your motherboard over and you're done. I know this is an old post but don't knock anyone for trying to repair their item themselves.

It may cost more if you break other things, but at the same time, chalk it up to a learning experience. I replace screens all the time for people and have broken lcd's when just trying to change the digitizer, can happen to anyone even with the proper tools, it's just a game of chance. You might do 100 correct with no issues, and then you have 2 in a row that don't go like the last 100. It happens, and you just move forward learning from the 2 that broke worse.

When you can in the end fix it for less than a used version of the phone, it's worth it.

I'm sure I answered this before..

Anyway, like majority of the new LCDs the glass is bonded to the screen with LOCA glue. This makes separating very hard, without the correct tools you will spend more trying to fix it then what it will cost for a local shop to fix it.

Simple answer: YES

Everything can be fixed.

You can either replace the whole screen and digitizer which will be more expensive but easier to do, or you can replace just the glass which is a lot cheaper but will be a lot harder to do (you'll be swearing until the swear jar is full)
