DS Lite bottom screen ribbon no longer held in place. Help!

I bought a DS Lite to repair, and was going great until I hit a snag. The tiny bottom screen ribbon, which is supposed to be held in its socket by a flap, is loose. The flap is gone, and I think it is because of a botched repair job by whoever had it last. Is there another way to make the ribbon stay, or a way to fashion a new flap? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)
