How to replace/desolder iPhone 5 SIM card reader?

Hello,

My iPhone 5 always seems to say "No SIM" even when inserting several SIM cards and cleaning the tray and internals. I strongly believe this is a SIM card reader fault, hence please may I ask how I would do about de-soldering and soldering on a new SIM card reader on the iPhone 5?

I looked at several resources online and they have given me a general idea since there aren't many guides online, hence could I please ask you guys for more specifics on how-to? I apologise for the bother.

Thank you ever so sincerely! :)

Alright, I guess I'm gonna throw my hat into this crisis of misinformation. So, OP, if you don't have a smd work station and experience in soldering, this is not for you. What you should do is look into a GOOD board repair shop that can do this, and if that's worth getting a used iPhone 5. The phone that's next on the list to become extinct. Sounds like a $75 purchase on Craigslist. This particular repair would be difficult, especially because of the plastic components. I do have a technique for this, but still, not easy. Not for a beginner for sure. The only person who made an ounce of sense was that David F guy. The rest are not things that remotely make sense

If you have to ask i don't think you will be able to do it, it's not easy to resolder such a tiny component. My bets advice to you is get an old circuit board, I use a RROD Xbox 360 and practice soldering onto it.

That video didn't show how to do anything. However, I just started looking into this but I imagine you wouldn't actually "solder", you'd use a heat gun. Any time there's multiple solder points, it's usually best to use a heat gun to soften the solder.

I suggest to bring the unit to iPhone service center and let them fix it for you.they were more competent than us since it was their kind of job
