Headphone jack/socket screwed or just soldered?

Hey folks,

today I have accidentally pulled on the chinch cable which was connected to the headphone jack of my MacBook Pro 13". I am now a little worried that the headphone socket maybe got loose or damaged. From the outside it looks all tight and also seems to work flawless. But I do not want the headphone jack to stop working in a few weeks or so. First and foremost because I have the Book just a few days yet.

Does anyone of you know how the socket is attached to the logic board? Is it just soldered or also screwed or maybe hold by some little staves sticked through the logic board? If the soldering would be broken, would I definitely recognize it?

Please excuse if my english is not perfect, I am from Germany. Looking forward to your answer!

If I remember well each rear side of the square socket is soldered to the logic board and the audio lines are also soldered to the board. That's pretty solid since the port front part is adjusted in the unibody case so I don't think the socket could break so easily. But be aware that if you break the headphone tip inside the audio port then the broken part stuck inside the port is not easy to remove. There were many questions here on this subject and I didn't see a clear answer yet.

Thanks for your answer. But I think you are not quite right. The front part of the socket is definitely not adjusted inside the unibody. This was also my first thought because the plastic seems to be sticked through the howl. But if you look at the pictures of the logic board here on ifixit you can see that there is no such part on the socket which could be pulled through or adjusted in the unibody. So this has to made with two seperate plastic parts.
