Thermal Sensor error shown in Apple Hardware Test

I discovered that one of my RAM slots was bad and causing my computer to crash and not start up fully. I took one of the sticks out and VOILA! It booted up correctly! I did the hardware test and this error code came up: 4SNS/1/40000000: TGOD

I did some research and found this is may be Thermal Sensor warning, but can't be too sure about that. There's no way I can fix the RAM slot without replacing the motherboard which isn't possible right now. How do I find out which sensor or what part exactly is malfunctioning. I have no money to spend on repair facilities.

Did you have the battery removed when you ran the test?

If so this error will result.

If the battery was connected at the time you tested try reseating the battery and doing an SMC reset and see if that fixes the issue.

If the reset does not stop the error (run the test again), then either the connection between the computer and the battery is likely to be faulty, or the sensor or microprocessor in the battery itself has probably failed. If the connection looks good/clean under a magnifier you probably need a new battery. Batteries like these last bout 5 years.. could be longer, or shorter depending on the care and maintenance of the battery.

If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.
