Computer doesn't chrge after DC-In board replacement

Hi,

A client of mine had issues charging her MacBook Pro 13", it would charge sometimes, the green or orange light would light up and other times nothing. I did an SMC reset and that helped for a bit but thought replacing the DC-In board would fix the issue.

I installed the new DC-In board last weekend and plugged in the MagSafe cable and it lit for a bit (green) and then went out. It didn't turn orange even though the battery needed to be charged. Now the light doesn't come on at all.

I'm considering taking it to an Apple Store for them to look at it. I hope they won't noticed that I replaced the DC-In board though.

I made sure all the cables were in place securely. Does the DC-In board cable connect in only in one direction to the logic board? Not sure if I put it in upside down but it fit into place without force.

What do you this the issue is?

I used this guide for the repair: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2010

Hi lapo,

I could try another magsafe cable. I used the magsafe cable that I use to charge my own mid 2012 13" MacBook Pro as it has no issues charging.

I had the idea to try putting the battery of the mid 2010 machine in my mid 2012 machine to see if it charges and then I'll know for sure it's the battery or if it's something else.

Is it recommend to test batteries from one 13" Macbook pro in another 13" MacBook Pro? Say from a mid 210 machine in a Mid 2012?

Thanks.
