TaoTao Thunder 50cc runs fine until it hits 30 mph then it feels likes sumthin is pulling it back from goin faster!!! Anyone got any help?? Thanks

dadandnmd, you posted your question as an answer to a FA-50 question. I changed it since it obviously is not an answer. Anyhow, the FA50 has a high speed of 27-30mph. So your 30mph is correct. There is nothing holding it back other than the stock performance of the engine. A correctly adjusted carburetor and muffler cleaning are the two most important factors in reaching the stock speeds. It's a moped not a racing bike. Hope this helps, good luck.

Ok sorry about that...lol and thats not my bike.. I have a tao tao 50cc...
It seems like there are lots of those scooters around too:-) The high speed of those scooters is listed at 50kpH which again comes up as 30mph. I would think that these engines have some sort of governor to limit it to 30mph which is most likely what you feel. The reason for that is the licensing of those. If the manufacturer would make them go faster, then they go into a different class. For many countries that would mean a separate drivers license. Hope you have more information on your scooter other than that it has a 50cc engine.
Its a taotao thunder and it feels like its dragging when im going down hill... it use to go smooth down hill but now its not going its full speed down hill... hope this is better... thanks for trying to help cuzz I cant figure out wat it is....
