How to get push down battery so iPod screen will fit?

Hi, I was finishing up on replacing the screen on an iPod Touch 4th Gen and as I went to lay it down it did not go down flush. Something was pushing behind the screen. I checked for glass or other loose parts. I noticed that metal plate in between the screen and the battery curves out a bit. The only thing that seems to be causing it is the battery.

I haven't taken the battery out at all. The top of the battery seems to have a wire that's built in that starts out on the top outer edge on the right but as you follow it left travels over the edge and onto the side that that touches the metal plate. Is there anyway to move that cable in the battery or would I have to replace the whole battery. I don't know how the first screen fit in if that that cable was pressing against it the whole time.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Double check that the logic board is fully tucked back in. Also take note of the metal tabs on the right side of the metal plate. Put the right side in first then close it like a book cover.

There is little room for error inside the iPod touch 4 th gen. The plate may have also bent a bit when you removed it which could give you issues reassembling the iPod.
