Fix that worked for me when new screen ghost clicked

Hi all encountered my first screen today that ghost clicked now I have other screens but I wanted to sort this out.. I found that when the screen was closed down or resting of the phone it would go mental and start clicking but when lifted up sometimes would stop so here's what I done see pic..

Sometimes screens come with this tape of the connector circled mine did but I placed some insulating tape over it and low and behold it worked not a ghost click in sight hope this helps someone.

I will be keeping the phone over night to test it further and will update tomorrow thanks

I randomly found a temporar. All you have to do is just press lock button once and after 2-3 seconds press repedeatly the lock button again for like 2-3 times.Surpisingly it works.Do this whenever its starting to get weird

I have the same issue, before and after changing the screen and digitiser. No difference. If i lock and open the phone again i can continue texting, sometimes only for a split second and sometimes i can write a whole message without issue.

Could it be dirt on the circuit?

Cables were not pinched I no what the cable is but I seen people on here talking about ghosting and a few had tryed this so I thought what the !@#$ tryed it and it worked...

Must have seeded the cables about 5 times so it wasent a connection issue..

The strangest thing was when the screen was just resting on frame touch was going crazy it wouldn't let you touch and as soon as it was tilted up a tad it stopped..

Look I'm not saying this will help every1 but it helped me and if it saves someone have to pay for another screen then I happy with that

Many things can ruin the cable, like folding or pulling. I think iphone 5 use display data cable AND touch signal cable for touch function. If either one is damaged, you lose touch.

Well spotted! I started getting ghosting when I was touching near the top of the screen where this connector is located. Took the screen off and noticed the tape had slid a little bit exposing the contacts and I'm guessing pressing them against metal back of the digitiser. Added some tape and all is working, many thanks

Hi,

I had a case of parallel typing and crazy scrolling.

I did two things which solved it for me, not sure which one.

After a lot of research and trying resets etc, i decided to peel my screen guard and put it back on. i also stopped using safari and used chrome instead at about the same time. I have not seen the problem in the last few days even after returning to safari.

Hope it helps someone.

The circled area is the backlight power cable.

Touch signal cable is the very thin one under the display data cable. Make sure the cables are properly folded, not pinched or cracked, the foam cushion under the cable bracket is present. Maybe the backlight cable without insulation caused interference somewhere.

I don't want to be rude by just sharing this link. But justify the relief I had after viewing this video I found, which helped me fix the issue instantly, though not a permanent solution. You can use the guide instruction shared in the video to temporary get a control of your device and get a backup and have it repaired.

Here is the Link

Thank you guys, I think I made it.Using youtube I check how to safely remove display from mother board and 2 of the comments helped me.First I remove battery, than I disassemble display, blow the dust, clean the connectors, a lot of loose screws, isolate pic cable, connect the display connectors first and than the battery, and now everything is perfect.

Thank you again.
