Chip set on LCD issues

I have heard that suppliers are stating that there are chipset issues and if you get the wrong one it will fail?

Any insight on this!

How to choose a iPhone replacement Screen Assembly

When considering an iPhone replacement Screen Assembly:

Chipset version - There is a chipset bundle with the iPhone screen assembly, two major version of chipsets exist in the market, the first one (69334AOENQV, 63309AOENQV) which is 50% cheaper than the other one (69303AOENQV) that only support higher version of iOS (version 6.2) and it does not guarantee the support of the future version of iOS, if your iPhone has a lower version of iOS (lower than version 6.2), the iPhone cannot start with the new replaced screen. Another version of the chipset can support all version of iOS and it guarantees to support future version of iOS upgrade.

The real question here is what iPhone model do you have, a 4S or a 5c?

This screen is for a 4S iPhone. If I remember correctly these two part numbers are related to the color of the phone (Black or White cased).

I haven't heard of any differences based on different iOS's with the digitizer logic (how odd). Sounds like someones FUD to push sales.

Maybe someone with more knowledge on this can chirp-in.

I found more about this - It's true for the iphones running the older OS below 6... today's LCD replacements are geared for 6+ OS - thanks though :)

Steve - What did you find? please post a URL link. This makes no sense. Apple won't offer different parts that wouldn't work with the next iOS (within the same iPhone model). Apple would limit the iOS based on the A series chip (SoC) a group of devices have because of its design not the digitizer alone. Now, if this is someones copy then I could see they don't know the logic of the original chip (Apples) so their copy is based on a black-box model. Then I could see they don't want to offer a guarantee on it supporting the next version of iOS. I would say away of these parts if that is the case.
