Loose Screen / Screen popping out

I have had a phone shop replace the lcd. Now the top of the screen or glass moves in and out of the frame as I push on it. It appears as if there is some dark yellow glue behind the screen. The guy at the phone shop re-heated and tried to stick it back down. He also noticed some of the screws were loose and tightened them. Unfortunately the screen still moves just as much. What is the reason my screen has come loose and what should I do to fix it?

The solution, from what i have gathered is this. The glass extends up past the lcd screen and any screws/ solid attachments to the frame, which is why the top of the screen could be lifted. The lcd has double sided tape around the edge to stick to the frame. In this case the tape sucks, you can feel it move . The phone shop glued the top edge of the screen into the frame. Problem effectively solved.

Note. the glass was lifted somehow by shop leaving another 2 airbubbles but apart from going good

Why replace a good screen? The glass in my S4 is in good shape and is still adhered to the LCD display. The glass/LCD assembly just pops out of the frame and needs to be glued back in to edge of the frame. Can anyone advise?

That right. Reglue yes but better to get the double sided adhesive incase the glass breaks in the future. Easier to replace

Yep. Full lcd replacement. I did watch a video and it looks like the side bevel and middle housing bolt to the screen. So... how the screen is moving in and out?.. I can use my fingernail and pull the top of the screen out and see behind it to cables from the front facing camera etc. He has used a second hand bevel, not my original and it is warped slightly and cracked at the volume button. The middle cover doesn't move it is firm to the bevel.

I think he has used your mid frame then and not a lcd with the mid frame attached..

Hi Con, thanks for your reply. From what I am understanding so far: the circuits attach to the lcd, then the plastic cover and bevel go on. It's not my aluminium bevel I know that much, this is one he had lying around. The plastic that covers the circuits and holds the battery may or may not be my old one. What holds the lcd in place? How is it possible I can put my nail under the screen and pull it away from the bevel and the plastic a few millimetres??

Another thing; -at the top of the glass in between the front cam and motion sensor there is an air bubble/sepperation. And another above the speaker. Maybe it was done trying to install it to the dodgy housing? Why would he heat it up and try to stick it back down? If it was the glass that was moving you would see air bubbles, glue etc. right?

If you could post a pic if would really help

I have a Galaxy S5 and my screen is like popping off from the left. Now it's slowly starting to pop off from the point to the home button. Can anyone tell me why it's happening?

i have the same problem with my galaxy alpha phone! the top right corner popped out in a matter of weeks and the process is speeded up by tapping the bottom side of the display, eg. when typing sms or more pressure typing moves! i have send the phone to warranty these days and will come back with details about how they repaired the screen.

Same problem here with a 2 month old Galaxy A5 2016 (SM-A510f) sent it in for warranty fix. and it just came back after 14 days and I turned it in just again because the display was set in very poorly with gaps at each side. I really don't know why Samsung-Service sent it back like this.

I have a Galaxy S4 and the bottom right corner of mine is coming up and I need to figure out how to fix it. I can see light when it is pulled up. My phone still works ok but getting tired of having to press it back together only for it to pull apart again within minutes.

What’s the fix for a lifting screen? Will super glue do the job?
