Why is my screen black with a light white oval?

I replaced my iPhone screen and I could not get it to turn on. I took the back off, plugged in the connectors of the old broken screen and I was able to turn it on. I then unhooked the old screen and plugged the new one back up. It was black with a white oval outline on it. If I turn it off I can not turn it on without plugging the old screen back in first. I have replaced several of these and never had a problem. Does anyone know what the cause of this is?

Yea sounds like you have bought a faulty screen You could have damaged it when fitting or it just was faulty..

I would return if you can and get a refund

Can be when assembling the cable screen folded ... and the screen was damaged

Next time better to check the screen before you assembled it, take out the motherboard, connect the screen and the dock conector and battery and turn it on by connecting electricity.

Thanks for the advice. After letting it sit all night the white oval no longer shows up. Now when I press the wake button you can the screen just barely gets brighter. You can still not see anything though.

I always check screens when they arrive and just before I start the repair .. I use a test cable it's very handy you only need to remove the emi shield and the lcd and touch connectors saves you take phone apart.. If you found helpful give a wee vote up ;)
