Frank, your number one enemy right now is corrosion. Even so you dried your GoPro with a dryer, left over water and humidity will corroded your camera. At least you could try to get it back in working condition by cleaning it. Remove the battery and do not try to turn your camera on, or otherwise supply power to it. Take a look at this teardown and use it to disassemble your GoPro. Once you have that done, clean all the parts with a high grade isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush. Yes it is okay to submerge the parts in isopropyl alcohol. Check for bad, burned or missing components. Once you have it cleaned replace the battery and then check for any residual damage. Hope this helps, good luck.

Thanks for the info. How long do I have to clean up the board with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush and stuff. As Im waiting for the tools to take it apart.

Sometimes on good cleaning suffices, other times it may take 3 or 4 times. It is all a matter of what you find when you take it apart. thank you for accepting my answer.

I used my LCD case the other day for the first time under water. LEAKED. I didn't even realize it until it was to late. I could see the corrosion build up on everything that was metal. I looked for some answers online but most posts I seen said the camera was doomed. So heres what i did…..

-Tried to turn on camera and it just gave me a blinking red light from the back.

-Waited another day to let it dry more, same thing.

(1) Go to a boat store and purchase some T-9 spray. It will be $15-$20.

(2) pop off the face of your go pro

(3) give it a spray in every crevasse for about a total spray time of 5 seconds. I went very light on the spray. Just enough to get coverage on the corroded areas.

(4) let it sit for 48 hours

(5) put battery back in and if you had the same luck i did your go pro has risen from the dead.

Upon the break down of the Gopro my circuit board by the battery terminals had a small black burnt spot. So I think my main board is fried!!

Got my GoPro Hero 4 wet in the pool. I walked in the pool with the waterproof case but it had the opening in the back since I got the digital touch screen added on. Off ourse this was the last day of my honeymoon and I forgot I didn't have the full waterproof case on!! Anyway it was submerged for seconds but clearly soaked. I tried turning it on right away by mistake saw the red ligh heard the beep then it went completely dead. I went right to the Internet for answers. I didn't have rice so I took the battery, digital screen and memory card out right away. I put tissue all around the GoPro and stuffed tissues inside the battery slot. Then I put the GoPro and the digital screen separately wrapped inside a ziplock and placed them in the sun/heat for hours.. Nothing worked then when i I got home 2 days later i put everything in rice and a sealed tubber ware. I tested the GoPro every other day to see if anything improved but no life... Then a over a week later I plugged in the GoPro for a test and the red charjng light came on!!! It charged but still would not turn on.. Finally another week later I check the GoPro after a charge and it turned completely on even the display screen worked without any issues!!!!!!!! So the moral here don't give up!!! It took over 2 weeks for mine to completely get back to life but it happened and I couldn't be happier!!! Saved myself from spending the money over again and I am happy I was patient!!!!!
