I recently bought a Nintendo 3ds and after a month of playing it, it just shut off. Every time i press the power button, the blue power light shines for three to five seconds and then shuts off with a loud powering off sound. The system never completely turns on.

might have been dropped damaging the top screen, or the cable may have worn over time - open it up and push the top screen cable fully in

Something in your system is causing a short. These are potential root causes of the flash power off....
1. Ribbon cables from the LCD and 3d feature are loose
2. Damage to ribbon cable for the backlight (bottom or top lcd)
3. Damaged ribbon cable connectors on mother board (corrosion or bent pins)
4. Bad 3d/backlight/speaker cable
5. Bad mother board due to fuse.
