I have small nicks in/on the screen! What do I do?

I got home from school the other day, when I noticed something that looked like dead pixels. No big problem since my previous MacBook also had a few dead (stuck) pixels. Since it helped to massage the pixels with a pencil eraser on my previous Mac, I tried again. But no.

After further examination, I found out that there are small nicks/notch (don't quite know the english word for it). They are really small and is quite hard to feel, like they are half of a millimeter into the screen or something.

Is there anything I can do without replacing the whole display?

I have made an appointment with Apple and they are going to call me next Thursday.

I hope apple covers it... if not perhaps an auto glass repair place might be able to fill those in with the compound they use on windshields. (You could try to DIY with the stuff an auto parts store sells - but IMHO not every solution for repair has to be DIY - especially when special tools, equipment and experience is involved.)

I think maybe I have not explained it right. It is not scratched and/or lacking of the plastic (filter?), but is more like a dent in the plastic. I think the result is the same as when you push your finger against the screen, but is only, exactly where the dent is.

BTW: Thank you for responding!

This model doesn't have a plastic filter over the screen... with some ingenuity in design (that comes with an unfortunate price - vulnerability), apple designed these screens exposing the actual LCD screen to the outside environment. They then coated the screen with a special resistant coating for ease clean and glare... which is fine and all, but definitely not going to protect it from breakage. So a dent isn't possible. The LCD itself is glass. Maybe you should attach a pic??
