Why won't my phone charge?

My phone would not charge yesterday and went dead last night. I put it on the charger and it won't charge. the battery symbol will light up, but only to the first charge line and the phone will not turn on. I changed batteries from a Samsung I phone and its does the same. any easy or quick fix before i shell out more money? BOth batteries were low on charge, but I have used three (3) different charges that work with this phone and nothing.

Sounds like the charge port may be bad or broken. I run a repair shop fixing phones and we see a lot of those micro usb charge ports go bad or get broken. Most of them are tiny and flimsy to begin with.

Luckily the Galaxy SII does not require any soldering to replace it. The part is pretty cheap and readily found on eBay or Amazon for under $20. I would try that next. Should take care of it. If a new battery and new port wont work, then its most likely an issue with the motherboard.

WHEN THEY SAY YOUR CHARGE PORT IS BAD OR BROKEN, IT MAY JUST NEED CLEANING.

THERE IS A STUFF YOU CAN BUY ON EBAY MADE BY A COMPANY CALLED "CRC". ITS CALLED "CO CONTACT CLEANER" ESPECIALLY MADE TO CLEAN ELECTRONICS. YOU SPRAY IT ON AND IT EVAPORATES STRAIGHT AWAY AND DISSOLVES ALL DIRT,HAIRS AND FIBRES THAT BUILD UP WHEN YOU PLUG YOUR CHARGER IN ALL THE TIME.

THE REASON I`M TELLING YOU THIS IS, FOR THE PAST WEEK OR SO I`VE BEEN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS YOU`VE BEEN EXPERIENCING...SO I GOOGLED IT AND FOUND OUT MY PORT MAY BE DIRTY (UNDERSTANDABLY) SO I SPRAYED SOME OF MY CONTACT CLEANER INTO IT AND STRAIGHT AWAY MY GALAXY 2 STARTED CHARGING PROPERLY AND STOPPED RAPIDLY LOSING BATTERY POWER AS IT HAD BEEN DOING.

My phone did the same here in Canada.

Go to the Source and get a usb charger, it will cost about $25.00.

It forces the battery to charge and doesn't have a memory in it like chargers do that will limit the wattage of electricity into the battery to its minimal amount of wattage to charge it.

I had the same problem. One day I plugged it in the cable and the charging did not progress. Then after the trials above I used the a drain battery app, plugged it in again, the phone displayed a picture of the battery with an exclamation sign and after a few minutes it started to charge normally. I hope it helps... Luciano.

My iPhone 4 will charge sometimes but when it goes dead and shows the signs that's say plug in charger and I plug in my charge it will turn back on acting like it charging but it it won't actually charge WHAT DO I DO??
