Why won't my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 turn on?

I was in the middle of checking Facebook when my tablet randomly turned off despite being fully charged. I left it charging for more than 3 days and still nothing. I tried holding down the buttons and even connecting it to the computer to see if my computer would recognize my tablet, but still nothing. Can anyone give me some tips on what to do?

Try the following; it has worked for me well.

Press & hold "Power & Volume" buttons at the same time for 15 seconds. Then it will turn on without any issues.

My problem was that I could not turn on my Samsung device no matter what I tried. After few hours of trying, I found something that might help you. I connected my device to the charger and waited a few minutes. Then I pushed volume+ and the power button. The screen turned on, and it started charging in the Samsung "charging screen."

This problem is very common on Samsung devices. You can prevent this by regularly charging your device. DO NOT LET IT TURN OFF BY ITSELF. Factory reset your device every 3-6 months.

edit: sometimes your device might think that it is charged when it is really not, so i recommend ether doing the factory reset or getting an app that cleans and refreshes your device.

Not sure why my Tab 3 stopped. had a full charge, was out side burning a cigarette...it is so very hot here well into the high 90's with humidity to match, ...so, as I was saying, I was smoking and it was on- I was outside maybe 5 minutes. My home has central air conditioning, it's at about 66 ish inside...the next thing I know it's shut its self off and will do nothing. I waited for hours and still nothing...then I found this rather long post, I tried the volume up and power on, at same time and holy crap it came on...wowza. Thanks for spreading your wisdom.

- de

it worked now its charging

Thanks for the advice but still no joy!!

- de

Happened to me too with about 60% battery. Pinterest locked up and all of a sudden it was the black screen of death! Nothing from it until I plugged it into my PC and then just a battery flash. Took at least 5 minutes for it to respond with a Samsung flash. I kept trying the power button and the up volume and it finally booted up!

Same thing with my Galaxy Tab 3. Instead of holding power/volume buttons simultaneously, removing sim/data card, prying off back, plug into power source, etc. etc. etc....I tried this;

- turn unit face down. Place in dirty catbox. With left foot, place firmly on back of unit and slide back-and-forth through dirty catbox.

- remove unit with salad tongs & place face-down in toilet bowl. Let float. Watch one quarter of NFL Football on Fox. Return to toilet bowl. Urinate on floating unit. When finished, have someone else remove unit from toilet.

- have someone hold unit like a football on a kicking tee. Stand back two paces, then step in one motion towards ball. Kick unit like extra point towards front door. With front door open, pick up said unit . Turn said unit on side, elbows out, bring arm back - and with one motion, fling unit out front door, over hedge, skidding across pavement into road.

- return to your regulary scheduled bad habits.

Hope this helps. It worked for me.

Same thing with mine! Help please! Just downloaded the owner's manual to look at troubleshooting, total waste of time! All it gives you is:

Troubleshooting

If your device has fatal errors, hangs up, or freezes, you may

need to reset the device to regain functionality.

• If your device is frozen and unresponsive, press and hold the

Power/Lock Key for 10 to 15 seconds.

Thanks Samsung for nothing!

A common problem Galaxy 3, and in Note 2 same components as tab 2

EMMC component (memory module) all information on the phone was lost.

There are labs that can repair and replace the component in the new one, a better version of the component

you can read about it

Model: SGT P100

First, remove the SD Card and sim card. Press the Power button +Volume Up at the same time for at least 10 seconds. Release the power button when the Samsung logo pops up, but continue to hold the Volume Up until the recovery screen appears.

Use the volume buttons to navigate the menu and select one from the four options as indicated on the picture above, press Home to choose the selection. I suggest that you simply reboot, this alone might do the trick.

The said procedure resurrected my tab:) Good luck!

Similar problems here: screen blacked, then refused to charge, would attempt to start but then the screen faded to black.

I followed the above instructions - restart button plus volume up - I got a green android icon with, what appeared to be its guts open (!!!). Selected 'factory reset' and it then went through a process of about 5 minutes of reconfiguration. I lost some photos and needed to reinstall some apps.

I think this was a good outcome, and an easy DIY fix.

Still love my Samsung!

It is totally due to the power disconnection. This occurs due to the disconnected power source. This issue can be resolved by put the tab to the power source and press both volume down+power button. This can solve your issue. By chance if this press can’t work then reply to this content or visit https://cowboypaper.com/essay-help/

I got the back off and pulled out the battery. Left battery out for an hour. Put battery back in. Left power off and plugged into charger. Is currently charging and turned on. We will see if this fixed it completely.

This can be resolved by leaving your Galaxy Tab to charge over night. If you let the battery run too "dry" ie. if you haven't used your table for a long time (6 months or more) the battery requires a long time to charge up. My tablet wasn't showing ANY signs of life before 2-3 hours of charging up, then it woke up and is now been working normally ever since.

Try this. Plug in your tablet as if recharging using the original charger. Hold down the power and sound buttons simultaneously and keep holding for at least 20 seconds. Should show the recharging icon. Works for any Samsung tablet

Have you tried holding the power button for 10-15 seconds? Most Android devices won't turn on with a short tap of the power button, in my experience.

If you do the holding the power and volume button for 15 seconds and it doesn’t work, try to leave it somewhere that is not hot or too warm for an hour. This helps your tablet or any Samsung device cool down. You might ask why and the answer is simple. You have basically left your device in an over heated place or you have used it nonstop and it has started to heat up, making your device over heated. This happens to me all the time and it’s completely normal. So I hope this helped you guys and I hope this fix’s your problems with your device no turning on or turning on and off.

I gave it a try several times but all I get is the first android screen which states it has 65% charge then it goes off then it goes back to the same screen as before round and round over and over and never stopes unless I press the power button when the screen is blank I think I have pressed every combination of buttons and held every combination for a short time 10 seconds and a long time 2 minutes but it does not start, I also tried every combination both plugged in and not plugged in it is a pain in the arse it's not as if it gets to much work I only use it for maps in my car I just ordered a samsung galaxy tab 7 which I will have to put up with as I have a couple of others but I doubt they would be any good as I have a Asus transformer v1 along with the separate keyboard which also has a extra battery in it which was a great way of doubling up the battery power and I have one one of the samsung galaxy note Pro which I think would be a little large sat in the car as it has a 12 inch screen.
