What is wrong with my iPhone screen and how can I fix it?

I accidentally stepped on the bottom of the back part of my 1st Generation iPhone and now the colors are smudged in horizontal lines across the screen. But I can see the buttons & words and the touch still works. It's just that the color smudging has made the screen white and things are not very visible.

Jonathan McLean, just because Apple will no longer support the original iPhone, that does not mean you can no longer get parts for it. I do not know where you live so here and here are a few examples of where you could get the display. The prices are higher due to the low demand, you do want to check somewhere that might be closer to you. Follow this guide for the repair. It is not easy but it is doable. Hope this helps, good luck.

You need to replace the display assembly. Unfortunately, they are impossible to find. You need to take it to an apple store for a replacement before June 11th.

Why June 11th?

June 11th is when apple will no longer provide service anywhere except for in California.

I live outside the US and it is impossible for me to go there before June the 11th. Is there anything else I can do?
