Replacing the digitizer only

I've read thru your Motorola XOOM tear down instruction. What I can't make out from the photos and instruction is, do I need to take out the motherboard before I can reach down to the glass?

Occasionally the entire screen is not responsive, and there's a single line of area of the screen is not responsive at all. LCD is fine, and I gathered that it's the digitizer/glass needs to be replaced. But to take out so many parts to get to the glass seems to be quite daunting and I'm considering whether it's worth DIY?

Thanks.

Edwin

Hi Edwin,

You do need to tear down pretty much the whole unit in order to separate the digitzer. Generally I would say that the repair is not that difficult in comparosion to some of the others that I have done. If you would like any further questions let me know.
