Preguntas 745 Ver todo

MacBook Pro will not boot.

I bought a Macbook Pro 13" aluminium unibody (Intel core 2 duo P8400, 2GB RAM, 160 GB HDD and GeForce 9400M graphics card.

Everything went fine until one day (having lost the guarantee), the screen suddenly froze (showing a "snowy" grey band crossing it). I shut it off using the power button.

When rebooted, it froze with a black screen (showing nothing), and started beeping (1 beep per 5seconds with light flash. The first beep sounds at start, then the DVD starts runnig and the beeping continues) but nothing showed in the screen nor the keyboard ilumination nor the apple behind.

I left it run off battery, and again it booted. Started a clean recovery of the system, and again, it froze with that gray band). Now, I can't boot the laptop, the CD is stuck inside and can't get it back and it keeps making that beep.

Nothing works: restoring CMS, clearing RAM modules, changing RAM modules, using one module (in every combination possible).

Thanks you all for the help provided

First I would try know working ram stick. Could you borrow a PC8500 ram stick from a friend ?

Second I'd test the top case: disconnect the top case ribbon cable from the logic board then power up the machine via the two power pads on the logic board. To find the power pads check the oldturkey03 answer here:

Where are the power pads?

Hi lemerise, thanks for answering

I tried 2 different RAM sticks and no one worked (it kept with the beep).

I have disconnected the ribbon cables and done whatever told but awfully hasn't worked.

Try to disconnect all cables on the logic board but keep the LVDS cable connected and known working ram inserted and power up the machine via the two power pads. We want to know if one peripheral device or its cable is causing the problem. If so you should now get flashing a question mark on screen.
