Hi how can I measure iphone 4's battery. I took my iphone apart and removed the battery but I do not see any changes in multimeter.
I am using multimeter on DCV and 2000m.
Can someone please show me the contacts should I use to measure it?

ielapoc, they are the left and right outside contacts. Check the attached image, it shows you which contact does what on the connector. Use it to determine the proper contacts on your battery. You should get somewhere in the 3.6V with your battery. I believe that under 2.9V the phone will not be capable of charging it. Hope this helps, good luck.

I just measured it and it is giving 0. I also bought a new battery but it is also giving 0.
My phone was water damaged. Found it on my table water around it. And the phone was charging whole night. I really do not know where those water came out. Then I took it apart and checked it's water sensors they were not damaged. And I put it in a bag of rice for 2 days. After that I turned on my phone it turned on but screen was gray and there were 1 vertical and 1 horizontal lines. Then it turned off. Since yesterday it was not responding but yesterday I plugged it to my pc and after some time itunes popped up recognized my phone but the phone was stuck on apple logo at start. Now it is not responding again.
What parts should I check?
And how can I charge my batteries outside of iphone?
ielapoc, "the old trusty rice" is great for a first aid and for Gallo pinto :-), but it will not fix your phone. Rice does not prevent corrosion. The very first thing to do is to disassemble your phone. Use this guide. Once you have it disassembled clean it with +90% isopropyl alcohol. Do not substitute this with other cleaners :-) Use this guide to see how to clean the phone. It was written for a 3G but all the steps are pertinent to your phone as well. Check for any missing or charred looking components. Once you have it cleaned, replace the battery (which you already did) and reassemble your phone. Reevaluate for any damage. The next thing would be to take a look at replacing the dock connector. Also, check the USB power fuses as well as check the USB Power IC and see if it looks charred.burned etc. You also want to make sure that your dock connector does not have any broken, bend or corroded pins. I have checked with voltmeter the pins on the logistic board while the charger was attached. (Without the battery of course.)
The reading said 0.53 volts. Could this be any indication to why iphone won't charge a new battery?
The history is like this: my iphone 4 suffered severe salt water damage. I have replace most of the components excluding the cameras, ear speaker, vibrator, and antennas and panels. I replaced the dock connector, the headphone and buttons module, speaker and microphone module and sensors module and of course got a new battery. Opened the shields of the logic board and they seem to be ok, no burnt or charred components (checked the USB power fuses and USB Power IC). Assembled everything and it seems to be working when charger plugged into computer USB or the ac socket, but charging of the battery won't commence.
So... any ideas to why it won't charge?
@shiriruk, you cleaned the board properly? Have you checked the components listed in the second image? What did that show you?
