While changing the battery on my Garmin Nuvi 680, the most internal cable disconnected from its connector and I don't know if the connector lifts vertically, slides out or is soldered to the motherboard. Beyond that, I don't know how to reattach the cable.

Scott Hoffman, you did say the innermost cable. Take a look at the attached image. Flip those clips in an upward direction with your fingernails gently toward the direction away from the cables. Hope this helps, good luck.

this shows how to remove the cable from the connector,, thequestion was how to reconnect.. I have the same issue and cannot get that clip to stay down after i have inseerted the cable
Same here. My flip-up part of the connector is white, and it does not snap down in place, it just flops up and down. I'm familiar with this type connector, and it did not seem to break when I took it apart, but can't figure out how to get it to hold the cable in place.

Scott Hoffman, take a look at this guide and give us the step that shows us the cable. Most of the connectors have a clip you have to lift up.

My Garmin RV 660 LMT has a ribbon that came off when I opened the case. I doesn't have a clip or fastener that I can see. The ribbon itself is about 5/8" wide. Where it connects there's nothing but a very small piece of plastic material; long and narrow; but it doesn't snap into anything just kind of lays there. How do I connect this ribbon back onto the board?
