iPhone 3GS lcd stays white unless pressure is applied to top right

I have an iphone 3GS that i got from a friend after he dropped and it and cracked the digitizer. I replaced the digitizer, but i also replaced the LCD due to the little sploches of dead pixels in the bottom right. i had the phone put back together for about 2 months when the screen started to turn white and applying pressure to the top right fixed it. it then stopped for awhile but came back worse and was harder to get it to stay the not white. it then stopped and has all the sudden started back up and now seems impossible to do anything unless i squeeze the top right of my phone. Are the ribbon cables bad for my LCD? or is the LCD going bad?

I have seen this numerous times and usually the #1 connector isn't staying plugged into the motherboard correctly, it's a design flaw that Apple fixed with the 4 model, I have fixed this with 3M 2 sided tape on top of the connector, the idea is to make contact between the top of # 1 connector and the backside of the LCD frame after its installed to keep pressure on the connector so it cant pop off the motherboard. I have taken it apart and it seemed like it wasn't the problem i disconnected the LCD and the digitizer and connected it firmly into the connector and it stayed white. It has gotten worse today, it just stays white now. i was thinking maybe a bad ribbon cable but when i get home i can take it back apart and try that and will let you know if it works.

I would also try a hard reset, sometimes that works for white screen depending on why its white, push and hold the power and home button at the same time till the Apple is on your screen and let it power up, good luck.

I've tried that. but from when the phone was dropped the silver trim popped up and i have to push it down to push the power/sleep button. I believe the LCD may be bad or something with the connection like you said or possibly a ribbon cable. i cant find out till i get back to my home so i have access to my tools

ok i just tried what you said. it didnt fix m issue. but now all i get is a white screen. i can still here it unlock though. Should i buy a new LCD?

ok I just recieved my LCD and it did not fix the white screen issue im having so im gonna say its something with the hardware
