How do I tell if my MacBook A1278 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo unit is a late 2008. It is a A1278 2008 backlit aluminum

If it boots, go under the Apple in the upper left hand corner to "about this Mac".
If you still can't get it, give us the last three figures of your serial number and we can tell you exactly what it is.

if it has a backlight keyboard and runs a 2.4 GHz core 2 duo chances are it's a late 2008 October and it may I believe have an apple part number embedded in board 820—2327— A hope it helps
