I don't have a Mac and know nothing about them - I have a non-Mac PC running Windows. Would this device (Universal Drive Adaptor) work on hard drives & optical drives used in a Windows computer?

Yes it does works on a Windows computer. I'm using it for my 3.5" HDD on my Windows 8.
