battery wont charge but the mac Power Up, after repairing the magsafe

I have repaired the magsafe connector many times, but yesterday I was repairing and accidentally reversed the polarity, and plug it into mac while it was running from the battery. it did not do anything like a spark or shutdown the mac, and the Orange LED did not turn on. So, i thought to check the polarity again and it was wrong.

Now the mac powers up from a charger but it does not charge the battery,

I check the battery it has 270 cycles on it and it is recognized by the mac, and i used another new charger an it is the same.

So i was wonder if anyone had the same experience or knows anything about this,. I am not sure if the DC-board has fuses or anything that could be fixed.. Please tell what to do .. Thanks

Theres a set of power transistors which you most likely blew when you reversed the polarity on the left I/O board.

I did the same thing on My white macbook 13" A1181. The DC-IN board does not help in my case. It might be different on the 15".

thanks for replying...

did you replace the dc-board??

The dc-board for the A1150 is about $100.

Apple moved things around on the DC in-board. Some systems have the power transistors on it, others have them on the main logic board. So make sure your comparing like systems.
