1 Water damaged iPhone 4s, opperating, but display is black.
I dropped my iPhone in water. Of course, now I know I should not have tried to turn it on, but then, as soon as I picked it up, I tried to turn it on, the screen flashed white, and turned off completely. I put it in rice, and Damp Rid for 24 hours, but it still didn't come on. So I plugged it in, after a few minutes I hear it make the sound when you plug it in to charge, and it made the sound of getting a text. The problem is that the display is black and will not respond to touches.
It's still under warranty, but since it's water damaged, Apple probably won't do anything about it. Although, I looked to see if the sensors had been activated. I did not see them at all, not white or red. Nothing. Maybe because I bought it from someone on Craigslist.

Thanks oldturkey for your help... But since the water damage sensors didn't activate, Apple said there must be a problem with the screen (eventhough I told them what I wrote above...), and since the phone is still under thier 1yr warranty, they replaced it with a great refurbished phone! Worked out great for me, since the other phone had been dropped a lot by the previous owner, to the point the vibrate feature was so messed up, it was as loud as a ring tone... I was just lucky this time :))) Deffinately buying a lifeproof case this time!

I dropped my iphone 4s in my own poop in the toilet a week ago from yesterday and I saw the screen go black and i used a blowdryer with cold air and put it in rice for a week and i can answer calls with the screen and the speaker and sounds work but my screen is black and it wont turn on so does this mean I have to get a new phone?
