Help! My iPhone 3GS is brickeddddd BRICKED iPhone 3GS( I think ).

Well can someone please help me! I currently bought an iphone 3gs from my friend.. It was on Simple Moblie and Jailbroken ofcourse. I don't remember what it was running on.. maybe 4.1 and idk else... It was running perfectly, all I needed was to get a new sim... It was really slow so I wanted to restore it or reset it so it can be faster and not laggy or whatever....Like the dumbass I am, I erased all content and settings in 'General' under the 'Reset" option... and now my Iphone is bricked as in it shows the dead battery, stays on the apple and It can be put it in DFU mode. Please help me! I Have no other way to solving this and i'm pretty sure there is someone out here who can help. Please help!!!!! I'm fustrated, i really need the extra help!!_ Thanks in Advance! I Appreciate the help, i need it... and obviously more research ._____. PLEASEEEEE >.<

IF all else fails having a new base band chip installed could fix your problem as most problems arise from the base band and not being correct version.

I didn't update it. I went to General, then Reset and I chose "Erase all contents and settings". From there it went to the apple logo and it showed a bar that was filling up as it progressed or whatnot. After it finished it showed an apple and it doesn't do anything else. The apple pops up and it just stays there... I can put it in DFU Mode and it connects to iTunes, I put restore and it prompts me that it had to restore and update. I download the software but when the update is 'processing file' after like a minute it says, "The iPhone "iphone" cannot be restored at this time because the iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporary unavailable. Please try again later." This is pretty much what happens :/ Have a bit of a clearer idea? Please help me resolve this ):

jailbreak=updated or downgraded baseband to acquire a jailbreak,

by restoring with a jailbreak baseband version may have caused your brick.

So how do I fix that? Can you help me step by step please...I've tried some things like downloading custom firmware such as "iPhone 3GS Custom Firmware 4.2.1" and when I click restore, it says that the software isn't compatible... do you know why does it say that? Thanks in advance.

the baseband chip is on the main bored under the heat shields, it need to be removed and properly replaced with a different baseband version. You can look online for services to do this, But before you do this make sure its exactly what you need. My answer for this fix is speculation on what ive seen with past bricked phones.

do you mean OTA RESTORE? (from the updates in setting on the ios ?was it trying to update to ios6? )try to get a charged battery ,or if it charges ,charge it from the wall socket,if not then after replacing battery, try and rstore it via itunes, with custom (or normal ipsw file if its factory unlocked,)if itunes gives you error, metion what error it is,you should be in dfu mode and use ireb5 to pwn it for a custome firmware, also make sure you changes cable usb jack, and the cable is fine ,

did the update finished ?was simple update from itunes and not custome one? have you tried to connect it into wall socket just to see if it charges or does it only disp the logo and reloop?

if it didnt ,then you may try to pwn the device with ireb5

and then try boot tethered from redsnow

but FIRST try to press the volume up button non stop after the first inital time the apple logo is seen, and if that doesnt works

on the hardware pane it might be either the battery either dock port & cable

let me know how it went

Update

you should also try to restore it via custome firmware unless it is factroy unlocked

I tried restoring via custom firmware and it says that the software isn't compatible.. why? Did the phone went back to factory settings or what?
