The command to put the date on the pictures cannot be turned on. For some reason the instruction will not "light up" so you can make the choice. There is nothing in the manual referring to this that I can find. I just want to be able to put the date on the pictures.

Nick Routh , page #78 in the manual states that "You can embed the date in the image data when Postcard is selected". Of course you do have to make sure that your Date/Time (Page #12 in your manual) is set before you do that.
