I am not sure how old your system is but 2 rings indicate that it is overheating and usually on its way to three rings. :) You mention that it had been fixed before. Did you fix it or was it professionally done? Usually a basic reflow even done professionally will extend the life of your system by a year but it isn't a perminant fix by any means. Homebrew fixes that you see on youtube and such are just temporary.

How long are you using the system for before you get the two rings? Who fixed the system the last time and what method did they use?

Two red rings means that the console is overheating.

If you have experienced this when trying to repair the 3 red rings, then you have either used no thermal paste between the CPU / GPU and heat-sink, or you have not tightened the heat-sinks down enough.

Hey, buddy! ;) When I have sucessfully fixed the 3 red rings and replace and pastle new thermal of CPU, GPU and Heatsink, so I also put away X-clamps because I know X-clamp is BAD condition. I removed X-clamps and attach Heatsinks before already paste new thermal on processors and my console is sucessful repair even if it shows display and green, but 1min to show two red rings as it overheating , help please.., thank you!! :)

I had that similar prob and what I did to fix it was I took a rubber eraser and sliced it up so there was four 1/4" pieces and fold up some electrical tape and taped them to the bottom four chips underneath the mother board and it's been working great ever since

dominchi, just like those answers above state, your Xbox is suffering from the RROD. This is most likely caused from stress fractures in the solder joints of the GPU/CPU. There are really only a few things you can try. One is the RROD kit from here.Install the kit after you try to reflow your board. The guide for that is here. Sorry to tell you this, but a hair dryer does not provide enough heat to do a proper reflow. Any of these fixes are not permanent, but should work for a while. The only permanent fix is a professional reball of the GPU/CPU. Hope this helps, good luck.

No, it is not your power supply. :) The power supply provides power to the system but if there is a failure of the power supply then the system will not turn on and the light on the power supply will go red. It will also detect if there is a power issue with the system and go red if there are any type of shorts. Power supply failures are usually do to overheating but the system will NOT detect that itself.
