Ben, I just finished one of those cameras and I did not have to use a plastic opening tool. For most of it, my fingernails were good enough:) Follow [guide|5652|this guide]right up to step 17. Remove the 3 screws and the cable from the connector. That is your CCD. Hope this helps, good luck
