If you successfully inserted and removed other SD cards, then you either inserted this one backwards and forced it in or it may have a label on it causing it to wedge in.

Best advice - show it to you parents and have them figure it out and take the hit. Otherwise, you are likely to cause more damage and who knows how many years it will take you to pay for a new camera.
