Hi @nateanders59444,
Don't know Mac but assume it would be similar to a PC as far as how the screen works.
With the laptop turned on etc, try shining a flashlight at an angle close to the laptop's screen (with the display switched back to the laptop away from the external monitor) and check if there are any images to be seen on the screen.
They will be ''very faint'' if they are there so trying this in a darkened room may help to see them if they are there.
-''If there are images,'' its a backlight (LED) problem. Whether in the display or the LED board (if a separate board) would need to be determined.
+''If there are images,'' its a backlight (LED) problem. Whether in the display or the LED board (if a separate board) would need to be determined. (If the LED board is a separate board perhaps check the power supplied by the board to the LEDs is OK - blown fuse or power IC on the board?).
''If there are no images'' and since there is no backlight and also as you have replaced the logic board it seems to be the screen or maybe the screen and the LED board if it is a separate board.
