most laptops have status LEDs. They will tell you a lot - and also help us help you.

When you plug it in, there should be one LED lit, indicating by its color it is either charging or there is a problem with the battery.

If no LED is lit, then the battery is dead and the adapter is bad or the internal power board or connector is bad.

When you turn it on, other LEDs will come on.

If the disc LED is flashing, then the computer is booting, and you have a screen problem.

The biggest screen problem is the backlight, then loose cables, then screen.

If the disc starts blinking but stops b4 the normal boot time, make sure nothing is plugged into the computer other than power.

If nothing is plugged in, then it is possible there are bad components on the motherboard.

If no other LEDs come on, then the problem might be the power board or the motherboard.
