I recently bought an iPhone X with a broken earpiece speaker. I thought it would be an easy fix to solder a new earpiece speaker onto the flex cable until I saw that someone else already tried to do so. Since I don’t have a multimeter on hand I was wondering if I can take the earpiece flex cable with sensors from my own iPhone X and use it to test the other iPhone X, to see if it’s a board-level issue or a flex cable assembly issue. Will Face ID break on my own iPhone X or is it fine to use it to test the other iPhone?
