When the ice maker requires water to fill the tray, check if voltage is getting to the coil that opens the valve that connects to the ice maker line.
Use a DMM (AC Voltmeter setting >200V) connect between earth (frame of fridge bare metal) and a terminal on the coil. If not on one terminal try the other.
''Be safety aware it is possible lethal voltage'' (not sure whether or not it is mains power or not) at the valve point but be careful anyway.
How it works on other fridges is that there is a lever in the ice maker that operates a switch when the water level is low and this sends an earth signal to the control board which then sends voltage to operate the valve to open the flow.
When the required water level in the tray is reached the switch is released and the control board turns off power to the valve.
So the problem could either be between the ice maker and the control board or between the control board and the valve or even in the control board.
