The iFixIt instructions for the NVIDIA Shield Tablet are flawed all the way through. Some of the end users’ comments are very useful and necessary to read before attempting to open this device.
 
Also, theThe battery is so difficult to remove that it’s bestimpotysny to have a replacement battery handy. Mine did not survive, even though I usedYou don’t want to mess with Lithium Polymer. Even with hot air to soften the glue and I’ma lot of patience, it’s still very patient!very difficult to remove.

You’ll need a hot air workstation to replace the USB connector. You will also need to have athe replacement part. None of these are listed in the iFixIt article, which is the worst I’ve ever read.

Also, the battery is so difficult to remove that it’s best to have a replacement battery handy. Mine did not survive, even though I used hot air to soften the glue and I’m very patient!

You’ll need a hot air workstation to replace the USB connector. You will also need to have a replacement part. None of these are listed in the iFixIt article, which is the worst I’ve ever read.
