Westinghouse WSRFA2692 rechargeable fan

How can I fix the oscillating knob of my rechargeable fan? It's not locking when I turn it counter clockwise, it's like never ending turning, also the thread inside (where the knob attach) is like loosing its sharpness everytime I turn the knob in and out. Can you please help me how to fix this?
