iPhone 8 Home Button Really Sensitive

Texto:

Hi,

I bought an iPhone 8 yesterday from gumtree, and the home button is extremely sensitive. If I touch it as if I was using Touch ID it ‘presses’ the button really quickly for as long as I hold it there. It thinks a light tap is a hard home button press.

I can use it to go home if I tap REALLY lightly. Touch ID still works.

Apparently the screen has been replaced ‘by a professional’ before.

Research shows it could be a couple things;

 - U10 Chip?

 - Bent flex cable

 - middle screw too tight or too loose under the sensor

How likely is it that it’s the last one? Can I troubleshoot it some how?
- Bad replacement screen

I’m happy to adjustI have tried changing the screw, I just didn’t want to buytightness of the tools if it’s unlikely that’sscrew underneath the causehome button, which does nothing.

I’m happy to adjust the screw, I just didn’t want to buy the tools if it’s unlikely that’s the cause.

Thanks for the help
