ThereIt seems that there may be a faulty headphone jacksocket in the controller.

It might have come off the motherboard or there may be a problem inside the headphone socket itself.

There is a contact inside the socket that operates when a headset is inserted to send a signal that lets the controller know that a headset has been plugged in and for it to operate accordingly. If this contact is faulty then the socket will have to be replaced as it is irreparable.

Here is a link to the ifixit [guide|97228] guide which will help you to gain access to the headphone socket, initially to see if it is still connected OK to the motherboard.

Here is a link to just one [https://www.ebay.com/itm/Repair-Part-3-5mm-Port-Jack-Headphone-Component-for-Xbox-one-Controller-/282433116832|supplier] of the replacement part.

it is not a recommendation to use them. It is shown to give an idea of the cost of the part. The are other suppliers online that may suit you better. Just search for ''Repair Part 3.5mm Port Jack Headphone Component for Xbox one Controller 1698'' to get results.

Hopefully this is of some help
