If you're having trouble with your screen's brightness, use the function keys F2 and F3. The F3 key will be the one to '''raise''' the brightness, so press the F3 key until you reach your desired brightness.

If this doesn't work, check to see that the F3 key is working by pressing F3 while holding down the FN key. if a search menu appears, then the F3 key is working and the problem may be the screen itself.
