Mi PC: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, 4GB RAM DDR3, AMD Athlon x2 2.8 Ghz, Nvidia GeForce GS 8400 1GB, DirectX 11.

La Laptop: Windows 7 Professional 32 bit, 2GB RAM DDR2, Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.3 Ghz, Gráficos Mobile Intel 4 Series, DirectX 11.

Windows 7: Errores de Imagen Incorrecta en Windows 7

Hola!

“ MusicBee.exe - Imagen Incorrecta.

Espero puedan ayudarme, gracias.

Windows 10: Can any version of Windows 10 run on one core

Hey @captainsnowball do you know if there is a version of Windows 10 that will run on a single core processor?

This is what’s happening:

Update 1/16/18:

Well I’ve installed windows 10 Pro 32bit on it now and it runs fine, faster than I thought it would run on a single core. I got all my softwares installed. One thing it can’t run at all is 3D graphics and Videos, is runs google earth for a couple minutes and then crash’s and video plays behind the audio. I was surprised how fast it boot though, 27 Seconds!

Windows 11: Will this "unsupported" PC run Win11 smoothly?

I have to manage a fleet of PCs for others. One of them will not officially run W11 as it has a Ryzen 5 2400G APU, when the minimum CPU is a Ryzen 5 2600. I'm hesitant to upgrade it to 11 with the unsupported CPU, but everything else "passes" the compatibility test; even TPM 2.0 is there. I knew this would be an issue years ago, but the need for a replacement was deferred for years and my warning was ignored for years.

The rest of the unit is as follows: 1TB WD Black (pulled from the old PC, so this is the second run—54k hours), 250GB SATA SSD, 16GB RAM, Radeon RX—the PC literally makes it short of the CPU :-(. I may be able to put a used Ryzen 5 2600 in so I can tell Microsoft where to shove it, but I don't want to chance it being a dud, so that's something I would probably try if I got it, but not in production.

Given how close it is, if I have to do the unsupported upgrade, are the odds of an issue something that warrants grave concern high? Either way is a wipe and reload by nature due to how I bypass it. If it were something I was still running, I would have bypassed it given how close it is and assumed the risk, but there's a little more caution needed for others. I HAVE seen it go south on bad chips like the A10-4755M when I tested my procedure on grossly unsupported hardware. It was unusable, but the PC was borderline unusable on Win8 and Win10, so that was what I expected.

This drives me absolutely crazy. I will at least 5 times daily, get a notification. updates failed to install. its always this Dell open print driver thing (my laptop is not even a dell, although 99% of the 450+ printers are dells.) which I uninstalled the PCL open print driver and still get this issue. including at home. And every time it is the same version.

But heres the weird part. it finishes updating, then gives me button to check for updates. Clicking it I get the same dell update. same version. (confirmed by my screenshots)

When I started my Windows 8 laptop from sleep, I have noticed this happened. I tried to shutdown the laptop by holding the power button down. The issue happened twice, until I forced it off and let it say there was a startup problem. Once that happened, it started up fine.

While the machine is fine now, what causes this in Win8? I don’t want to upgrade it to Win10 if I can avoid it since I have no real need to, and Win8 is good until 2023.

Update: new problem. This happens every hibernation boot.

Windows XP: older multiuser dos question

I have an older medical system that uses multiuser dos 7 gold. The HDD is going bad so I’m cloning it to another HDD but upon booting it comes up with ibmbio.ldr missing or bad. From the reading I’ve done you can’t clone this system because the ibmbio.ldr and other system files are location specific on the drive. Is there not some program I can run like rebuildbcd within that multiuser dos environment so that it updates the mbr to its location and therefore fixes the boot stup?

I upgraded my SSD from 512GB>1TB and my machine is now pushing Win11 on me when it did not do this before. I guess the restart and subsequent hardware detection change after cloning the SSD triggered it. Nonetheless I shut it down for now and told it to shush in Windows Update but is there a way to silence the startup prompt and then I can decide when I am ready? I know we could do this with 7/8.x>10 with Never10 (and yes, I DID check if Steve Gibson did it again; nope >_<) but I see nothing with 10>11 on upgradeable computers.

I realize 10 will be EOL in almost 1 year and some change and I'm sure someone will say I should stop pickinhg a fight to stay on 10. NO, I bought this machine with a bad SSD config because it had a factory license, and it could be upgraded.

At the time I got this laptop I had a few second thoughts about how long I will be waiting before I need to swap out the SSD for a 1TB drive; 2 big games did the job. I took the risk I will regret going 512GB for the coveted 10 license in 2021. Well, I need more SSD space. This one has the Dell OEM image on the drive since it came from Dell, but the partitioning is mostly "hidden" drive letter partitions for the recovery stuff (recovery partition, BIOS update backup holding etc).

When I buy a 1TB SSD and clone it will I have problems with it or am I looking at doing a backup and cloud recovery/bootable USB?
