My calculator worked perfectly fine yesterday, and this morning I tried to turn it on but it only shows a white screen. After trying to reset it way too many times I sometimes get black lines going over the screen. Not only have I tried resetting but I also took out the battery. This calcular is only 3 month old and I don’t know what to do.

Texas Instruments TI-Nspire CX: Recovering ti nspire cx from water damage

I wrecked my calculator yesterday in the morning with sink water when i was cleaning the outside with the cover on. i didn’t realize it was broken until i tried using it before a class in the afternoon. At that time, when i turned it on. the screen was showing the home screen, but there would be a wavy line moving from top to the bottom of the screen every few seconds. And when i tried turning it off it wouldn’t respond. At the time i didn’t have the screwdriver to take out the battery so i left it alone until after my class. When class was over, i checked the calculator and it was off. When i got home in the evening to take it apart and remove the battery, the inside seems dry. I didn’t see any rust or discoloration on the boards. The battery looks fine to me. After letting it dry further and reassembling the calculator, i tried to connect the charger to test if it would turn on last night. After a few minutes of charging the calculator, i can hear a slight noise within the calculator when i press the ON button. The display didn’t show anything (black screen) and oddly, the other metal outlet opposite to the charging port started to heat up. So i disconnected the charging port. And this morning, after reading other online guides about electronics further, i removed the battery. Is there much i can do at this point to recover the calculator? I can’t tell if the display has problems, or the power connector, or other things. Are there ways to find out what’s wrong and to fix it?

So I’ve had this TI 84 Plus CE for less than 24 hrs and this happens. Literally happened in the middle of doing matrices. Tried to see if doing the LCD test would fix this with no luck. Hasn’t been dropped or banged around; considering it cost me $150 I treat it better than family. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I cannot find my problem anywhere in the forums

when i turn it off it shows blank bright white screen

My Texas instrument calculator TI-84 plus CE Works excellent except for when you turn it off it goes off on a blank white screen .

when you turn it on it goes on normally however, when it is on you cannot adjust the contrast or the brightness of the screen, you cannot dim it or even make it more brighter .

please take note that all buttons are functioning properly

and I have tried everything

hard reset pressing second delete and back reset button

also trying to reinstall OS didn't work

also try to clear memory several times same thing

remove the battery for more than 10 minutes then put it back same thing

also try the self test the brightness indicator changes values on the screen but still do not dim or brighten

please advise urgent thank you

Opened up my TI-83 Plus calculator (its an older model: 8TA837MB-30B). The board says TI-83 (F) on it. When I opened it, an inductor in the L6 slot was missing. This is located near the I/O jack to connect to the computer. A commercial picture of the board is shown below with where the L6 inductor is supposed to be. I just can’t find out what value of that inductor is so I can replace it. Any help would be much appreciated. I’m doing this more for soldering practice rather than just buy a new board and replace it. Thanks!
