Samsung Display SE790C Series S34E790C: Why does my monitor turn on to a grey screen?

My monitor only turns on to a grey screen, it will not display anything, I’ve tried hdmi and dp. Even when it’s not connected to a computer it doesn’t say “no input” or anything like that. Just stays grey. I try to toggle the menu but still just stays grey. My computer can recognize that another display device is connected to it. The only thing I can do to it is turn it on and off from the toggle power button, then it goes from the grey screen to the black screen. When I look from behind the monitor I can see that something on the right side is lit up red, this could maybe have something to do with it? My knowledge of monitors is rather limited, please give me some answers or suggestions on what to try or what the issue may be. Thank you!

Samsung Display: S34J55x left half's bottom light doesn't turn on occasionally

This is a weird one - Bought this S34J55x monitor during covid, and for some reason it started developing this issue where when it wakes up, the left half of screen doesn't turn on bottom light. The right half is fine. Pixels are fine though. using joystick to turn off/turn on fixes the issue most of the time(not 100%).

This has happened both for PC(hp laptop through HP USBC dock to DisplayPort) and Mac(M4Pro MBP through a Tripp-lite dock to HDMI1).

It feels like a software/firmware issue, but I can't find any firmware updates(if they exist, Samsung's support website is...meh).

Anyone have experience/insight?

Yesterday I was cleaning my monitor with Colin (cleaning agent). I directly sprayed it on display and wiped it with a dry cloth. After cleaning, I thought to turn on my PC and check for the display but it worked fine. Today when I turn it on my PC I saw that there were some blue lines in the middle of the display. What should I do now? Please assist me

Samsung Display SE790C Series S34E790C: High Pitched noise from this Display – Is there a way to fix it?

I’ve had this display (Samsung 34” Wide screen) for 3 years, and now it has started to emit a high pitched noise. It’s so uncomfortable that I can’t work properly. I also have tinitus, which makes it worse… :(

Can someone please advise me what to do? Googling about this, high pitched noises are common for monitors (I also had it on an older display, but it vanished when I set the brightness on max). One solution is to apply a lot of glue on some of the components on the motherboard.

My question is: Where on the motherboard should I apply this?

It’s probably easy to open the monitor, even though I can’t find any guides on the net…

PLEASE HELP – My brain is about to explode! :((

Samsung Display SE790C Series S34E790C: The monitor no longer turns on

A few months ago, my monitor would turn off randomly. I would simply replug the power cable from the outlet and the screen would turn on after a few seconds. Over the months, the screen would turn off more frequently and plugging and unplugging them monitor wouldn’t always work. I even connected the monitor to a seperate switch board that I could turn on and off with my foot to make the prcoess much quicker. Some days it would take longer and longer to power on but after power resetting it enough times it would stay on for prolonged periods. Now, my monitor won’t turn on.

I’m worried that the constant disconnecting from power may have fried something in the monitor but i’ve ordered a new power supply and cables to see if that’s the problem.

There are no Samsung repair stores in my state and there aren’t any monitor specific repair stores here either. If anyone has had similar experiences with any monitors or even other electronic appliances, i’m willing to try anything at this point.

Thank you!

When unused for few days, monitor flashes brightly then goes black. Passing heat over display (eg. using hair dryer) fixes but it's getting worse. I need to keep hair dryer on monitor for longer to get it working again. Once working, it displays fine once I don't stop use again for extended period.

Samsung tech repair center can't confirm cost due to uncertainty of which part needs replacing. What part could it be and how certain is this? Also, can I repair on my own? I am not an electrician but can screw in a light bulb, use a screwdriver and other handy things :)
